Choosing Stripe or Square
Why RoveLogics recommends Stripe and how to choose the right processor for your business.
Our recommendation: Stripe
Stripe is the preferred RoveLogics payment provider because we have spent more time integrating and testing its RoveLogics workflows, including onboarding, checkout, refunds and reconciliation.
Square remains a supported option. If you already use Square, you do not need to switch solely because of our recommendation. Your business chooses its merchant processor, and processor fees and terms are set by the provider.
Feature differences to know
- Requiring clients to keep a card on file during RoveLogics booking currently uses Stripe.
- Regular client booking payments can use a supported connected Stripe or Square account, subject to account readiness and enabled features.
- Some advanced invoice and post-payment workflows are still being checked for Square parity. Do not assume a feature is available for both until its specific workflow is verified.
Connect and select your processor
- Open Business settings, then Payments.
- Connect Stripe or Square using the processor's secure authorization flow.
- Finish any processor verification steps and check the account is ready for checkout.
- In Checkout processor, select the connected processor you want clients to use.
- Run a controlled test of your business's actual payment and refund workflow before accepting production payments.
Can I switch later?
You can keep both processor connections and change which ready processor is selected for new checkouts. Historical transactions and refunds remain tied to the processor and merchant account that originally handled them.
The Stripe recommendation does not automatically change an existing business's processor selection or migrate saved payment details. Contact support for assistance with a specific advanced workflow before switching.
